The
Church finds its life, its meaning, and its greatest support
in the ministry of prayer. That truth is especially evident
at Bethany United Methodist Church.
At Bethany, congregational and
individual prayers are prominent elements of every worship
service. Sunday School classes and Bible studies open with
prayer, as do recreational gatherings and sports. And a
blessing is asked prior to all meals shared by the Bethany
family.
Bethany UMC also encourages members
to pray in their personal faith journeys.
Prayer
Chain
Bethany's Prayer Chain exists to provide
intentional prayer support for individuals and families who
have special needs, as well as supporting the ongoing
ministry of the church. In an effort to be accessible to all
Bethany members, the prayer requests may be submitted to the
Prayer Chain in several ways:
To put someone on the Bethany
Prayer Chain, please first obtain the permission of the
person in need of prayer.
Prayer
Groups
Small groups meet throughout each week in church members
homes for prayer.
A Men’s Prayer Group meets each Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 a.m.
at Bethany in Room 222.
Prayer Call
All Bethany members are invited to the Prayer Call,
held every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 5
p.m. in Spell Chapel. This weekly observance provides church
members an opportunity for personal meditation and prayer in
a sacred place. Special
Prayer Calls are held annually for the World Day of Prayer
and National Day of Prayer. |
