Musical Special
Events
Bethany offers three worship services on Sunday mornings. In
addition to these worship opportunities, Bethany observes
special services of worship
on Wednesday evenings during the seasons of
Advent (preparation
for Christmas) and Lent
(preparation for Easter). These services are designed to aid
the worshiper’s growth in his or her faith and commitment
during these special seasons.
For more information about our worship, please contact the
office of the Senior Pastor.
8 a.m.
service in Spell Chapel
This early morning service, held in Spell Chapel, is very
simple in its format and reflects the worship traditions of an
earlier time in Methodism. The music sung is from the
Cokesbury hymnal. On the first Sunday of each month, Holy
Communion is observed. Following this service is time for
fellowship at a continental breakfast in the Large Fellowship
Hall.
The
bulletin
for the 8 a.m. worship service is posted by noon each
Friday
and includes the order of worship as well as music and
special ceremonies.
8:45 a.m.
service in the Main Sanctuary
Our second Sunday morning worship service is at 8:45 a.m.
Special music, hymn singing, prayers and preaching are at the
center of this traditional weekly worship experience. At a
designated time during the service,
September through May, young people ages five through seven
are dismissed for Children’s Church. Holy Communion is
celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and is normally
administered by intinction (dipping the bread in the cup).
The
bulletin
for the 8:45 and 11:15 a.m. worship services is posted
by noon each Friday and includes the order of worship as well as
music and special ceremonies.
11:15
a.m. service in the Main Sanctuary
We also have an 11:15 a.m. Sunday morning worship service.
This is our most formal service. The
Chancel Choir, our
most advanced adult choir, sings every Sunday morning in this
service, except for several weeks in the months of July and
August. In addition, Holy Communion, which is celebrated on
the first Sunday of each month, is administered by the
traditional method of kneeling at the chancel to receive the
elements. As in the 8:45 a.m. worship service, at a designated
time,
September through May, young people ages five through seven
are dismissed for Children’s Church.
The
bulletin
for the 8:45 and 11:15 a.m. worship services is posted
by noon each Friday and includes the order of worship as well as
music and special ceremonies. |
