VOP Purpose
The
Veterans' Outreach Program's mission is to provide a
supportive outreach ministry to veterans and active duty
military service members and their families. As a part of
the extended Bethany Care Team, VOP members are actively
engaged in a number of initiatives to benefit those who
serve and protect our country. If you would like more
information on the VOP, please contact Hank Hyduk at
851-5850 or Chris Glaze at 327-1449. The VOP welcomes anyone
who has a heart for our service members, veterans and their
families!

VOP Initiatives
The current initiatives of
Bethany's Veterans' Outreach Program include:
-
“Letter from Home Program”
One of the things service
members look forward to when deployed is "mail call."
The internet is a great medium for staying in touch, but
it is always nice have something more tangible like
letters, cards and posters from home. The VOP would like
to know about any deployed church members and their
units so that we can write them with news of the church
and of home.
-
Establish a focused VOP Care Team
The VOP would like to identify
individuals within the VOP team who could provide
assistance to home bound veterans or their spouses, or
to families who have a parent deployed overseas. It is
not uncommon for a host of problems to arise when a
military member deploys. This team would provide support
and help to those individuals left to cope with the
issues. The Care Team can respond in a number of ways,
from having a veterans' hot line to establishing a
prayer cohort or formation to pray for loved ones.
-
Youth Interaction
The military does a great job of providing
its members with a wide range of experiences both in the
U.S. and across the globe. How can Bethany take
advantage of this experiential knowledge? The VOP is
currently engaged in two youth related activities and
looking for more! Please contact Hank Hyduk at 851-5850
for more information.

members who are veterans or are currently serving?
