Overview
Bethany Bash is a ministry is designed to provide both
fellowship and learning opportunities for all of our church
members in the middle of the week. Bethany Bash is held on
Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 from mid-August to the
end of April with short breaks for Christmas and Lent.
During
Lent
and
Advent, Bash meals are served prior to a worship service
in Spell Chapel.
Bash is a family event. It
begins with everyone gathering in the Large Fellowship Hall
for
an evening meal. The meal provides an ideal time for
families to eat together in the middle of a hectic week and to
share fellowship with members of their other family – the
Bethany family.
Immediately following the meal,
Christian Education programs are offered for every age level.
Adults may attend
classes in a variety of
subjects. The curriculum changes approximately every six weeks
and, occasionally, the Bash meal is followed by a concert of
Christian music or by a presentation about a topic of
general interest. During Lent and Advent a mid-week worship
service follows the meal. Register for classes
online or by calling the church office at 873-1230.
Children's programming includes
music, art and recreation. And youth programming includes
study and chat sessions.
A nursery is provided for
little ones five years old and younger.
Spring 2008 Bethany Bash begins April 2.

Meals/Menus
Menus for each Bethany Bash meal (and other special Wednesday
evening meals) will be listed on the
Bethany Bash Dinner Reservations Form, in the church’s
monthly newsletter and in weekly worship bulletins.
Children’s meals are simpler than those on the
adult menu and feature such items as hot dogs, chicken fingers
and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Children also have the
option of receiving a smaller portion of the adult menu. Kids’
meals are served in boxes for easier handling.
Here are two sample “menus”
from recent Bethany Bash meals:
-
Adults: Pork loin,
salad, mashed potatoes & gravy, peas, cookies, coffee or tea
Kids: Hot dog or PBJ sandwich, chips, vegetable,
salad, dessert, milk (white or chocolate)
-
Adults: Party chicken, salad, rice, green beans, rolls,
brownies, coffee or tea
Kids: Chicken fingers or PBJ sandwich, chips,
vegetable, salad, dessert, milk (white or chocolate)
