Nursery:
Bethany UMC has a nursery for children up to four years old.
The nursery is located in the Child Development Center area
of the church. (See the
Bethany UMC Facilities Map.) Nursery care is available
during worship services for infants, toddlers and children
who are four and five years old.
The nursery is open 15
minutes prior to church services and is also open during the
Sunday School hour, the Wednesday evening
Bethany Bash, the
Friday morning Women’s Bible Study and for special events
and worship services.
Bethany has developed nursery policies and
guidelines in order to ensure the safety of the nursery and
the health of each child who uses the nursery. For more
information about the nursery and our policies and
guidelines, contact the
Nursery Coordinator.
Children's Church (JAM and Mini JAM):
Near the beginning of the 8:45 and 11:15 a.m. Sunday worship services,
children in fourth grade and younger are invited to
Children's Church, where they
learn the word of God through praise and worship music
videos and a special Bible story.
Children's Church for children in
kindergarten through fourth grade is called JAM (Jesus and
Me) and meets in room 214 in the Student Wing. Children
attend worship with their parents until they are excused
following the offertory and escorted to JAM. Parents pick
children up in the Student Wing following the worship
service.
Mini JAM is our
Children’s Church for preschool children, ages three through
five, who have not yet started kindergarten. Mini JAM meets
in room 108 for the entire worship hour during both the 8:45
and the 11:15 a.m. services. Volunteer assistants ensure
that these little ones are escorted directly to their Sunday
School classes following the 8:45 service.
Child
Development Center (CDC):
The Bethany Child Development
Center provides young children with their first
exposure to education and social development within a
Christian setting. The CDC provides infant and toddler
programs, preschool, kindergarten and a Lunch Bunch, all
within a warm, nurturing, safe and positive atmosphere.
The Bethany Child
Development Center is fully licensed by the State of South
Carolina.
Kids Care:
Bethany provides after school care for children in the
Summerville area who are in kindergarten through fifth
grade. Kids Care
operates from 2:30 to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, when
school is in session. Kids Care includes healthy snacks,
