At Bethany we are committed to helping young children grow and develop socially, emotionally, intellectually, physically and spiritually in a developmentally appropriate, Christian atmosphere. Our staff strives to provide a warm, nurturing, and safe environment where the individual child is provided a positive learning experience.
The Bethany CDC kindergarten curriculum is centered on the developmental needs and interests of five-year-olds, aiming to foster growth in the areas of social, emotional, spiritual, physical, and academic development. We recognize that young children learn best by “hands- on” experiences as much as possible and practical. Both small and large group instruction, with individual instruction where needed, are supported by high-interest learning centers. This is accomplished by providing a wide-variety of appropriate materials and equipment that facilitates learning at the child's own developmental pace.
The enrichment of field trips and guest presentations augment the classroom program. Creative expression is encouraged in all areas.
Spiritual nurturing seeks to develop an appreciation for the presence of God in our lives. The inclusion of Bible stories and devotionals help the children to realize the importance of each person as one of God's special creations. Kindergarten attendance is required in the state of South Carolina. In the event of an absence, a written excuse is required.
